With the recent glorious weather, you’d think coffee sales would have cooled off but it seems that’s not the case. Whilst the nation continues to drink 2.1 billion cups of coffee a year out-of-home*, we’ve also continued to see healthy sales over the summer months and a rise in coffee machine installs – perhaps retailers are getting ready for the British winter!
Following the coffee shop boom a few years ago and increased consumer awareness, out-of-home coffee sales are an all year round consumption, with a healthy surge during the winter period.
To meet the increased demand during this time, retailers need a diverse and tempting offer to prompt the ever-more-demanding consumers. That’s where eXpresso PLUS differ to other coffee providers. We offer solutions from leading brands Lavazza and Nescafe, and work with our customers to create a bespoke solution that works for them.
Take Southern Co-op as an example. They loved our Lavazza Eleganza machine and the customisation options it offered (being able to change drink strengths and on-screen adverts), however wanted the machine to fit in better with their new-look stores. We listened and adapted the colour to suit them and have since introduced this to our core range – see the Lavazza Eleganza in action.
As experts in coffee-to-go, we’re also forward thinking about the solutions we introduce. With recent trends showing a decrease in the more traditional types of coffees such as filtered coffee (down by 1%) and even the famous Latte (down by 0.2%)*, we’re always looking at new products to introduce and ways we can enhance existing drink options. With the type of milk becoming an increasing important factor when purchasing coffee, consumers are beginning to expect various milk options to choose from such as organic, rice, almond and soya to name a few. That’s why we’re in the process of testing different variations to add to our coffee machines.
If there’s something you’d like to see added to your coffee machine get in touch to see how we could help.
